May God Forgive Her
An accurate picture of children victims of abuse and a powerful anthem to love
Escaping her father’s violence, 17-year-old Maya finds refuge in Fécamp, below the cliffs. She rebuilds her life and can finally dream of a future: she wants to become an architect. In the flat next to hers, however, are four children aged 6 to 12: victims of a tyrannical man. Maya’s fight becomes one of not only saving herself but of protecting these children as well.
She could have never imagined that things would turn out like this. She will act from the heart, without reflecting. May God forgive her. Just as He forgives cowards and wretches…
Laurent Malot writes with restraint and simplicity about the tragedies that touch thousands of women and children.
Que Dieu lui pardonne is a poignant story, ultimately one of hope and redemption.
A poignant ode to love.
